Joyah Spangler

As a coach, I like to focus on deep listening, bold physical/emotional choices and building a strong ensemble. I have experience in many different forms/philosophies of improv, including musical improv.

I was a house performer and instant team coach at Reckless Theatre, and have been an Advanced Study Student at UCB. I've been improvising since 2013 with training from Anders Fors, Chris Roberti, Kate Zelensky, Anthony Atamanuik, Aaron Jackson, Amey Goerlich, and Nicole Drespel. I've also studied internationally with Jill Bernard and Jason Geary.

I have toured and/or taught workshops at many different venues including ArtsQuest, DCM, and Improfest Sweden. Besides producing and directing shows throughout New York, I have also appeared in multiple national commercials (Subway, Nabisco, etc) and have appeared on Fox's TV show The Following. I also have an extensive director/choreographer resume. I am currently a resident director/choreographer at Random Farms.
