Erica Johnson

I'm Erica. I'm currently performer on the Magnet House team - "Good At Sports", the first and only all Black weekend team at the Magnet Theater. I've taken lots of classes from lots of good people at Upright Citizens Brigade like Achilles Stamatelaky, Keisha Zollar, Frank Garcia Heijl, and Anthony Apruzzese. I'm also currently part of UCB Academy.

My dual degree in Economics and Geography is a big influence in how I approach performance because it provides me with realistic information about the world i.e. I'm very good at establishing the base reality or grounding scenes.

Moreover, I'm also a performer on the BoogieManja Sketch Team called Buff Cousins.

I love to coach around the following things:

- Scene Work Diagnostics
- Avoiding Arguments and Finding the Fun
- Character exploration
- Building Grounded Scenes
- Commitment
- Creating Grounded Sketches with Clear Games
- Neck Down Comedy (using emotional, physical choices to heighten/explore)

I love working on The Spokane and Harolds but can explore other forms as well.

Plus, maybe most importantly to me, I want to help improvisers improv their skills by providing actionable constructive criticism.
