Charlie Nicholson

Hey! I'm Charlie. I love improv! I'm an actor, writer, director, and comedian. I perform regularly at the Magnet Theater with Bodywork, Friday Night Sh*w, and The Executives. In recent years I have directed the improv shows Object Work, The Costume, Give & Take, and The Peel. I've studied improv and sketch at UCB and Magnet and I have a BA in theater from Vassar College. By day, I run an after school mentorship program for teenagers at the New York Public Library.

While coaching, I like to focus on simplicity and honest connection between performers. From there, I draw on my experience in clowning and dance to encourage surprising physical character choices and find emotional expression through movement, posture, and voice.
