About

Let's get to work. I teach, direct and coach sketch and improvised theatre. I'm supportive but have high expectations. We'll discuss your goals and process before we work together.

I taught advanced sketch writing for The Second City NYC and was the Senior Faculty Member for Artistic New Direction's Workshops. I've been working in Improvisational Theatre for over 35 years. I work internationally and have a book available on Amazon.

Gary Austin, founder of The Groundlings in LA mentored me and once called me "one of the best damn improvisers" he ever met. He called me other stuff too, but that's another story.

I act improvisational at The PIT on a regular basis and direct some of their most well known teams. I'm an alumnus of The Second City Canadian National Touring Company and served as an alternate for, “Bebe,” in Cirque du Soleil's Mystere. Off-Broadway I was the dis-embodied head of Walmart founder Sam Walton in the musical Walmartopia! On TV I've done more commercials than I can remember, including dressing up as David Crosby, a human heart and Carmen Miranda… but with dignity. I've done feature films with Ed Asner, Eric Stoltz and Gerard Depardieu. The one with Gerard Depardieu was really crap.

A Little about the work...
Improv Comedy vs Improvisational Theatre. (Both are terrific)
Where Improv Comedy is writing on your feet...
Improvisational theatre is simply acting without a script.
Where Improv Comedy is the quick wit of a comedian...
Improvisational Theatre is an actors quick access to the emotion of the scene.
Where Improv Comedy is forwarding a narrative or idea...
Improvisational Theatre is entering with an open mind and an open heart.
