Hi, I would love to work with you. We’ll customize practices to find/serve your team’s voice, secure you stage time & strengthen your performances.
-- I teach for The People’s Improv Theater (The PIT)
-- I serve on the House Team Committee (as well as coach) for The Tank (Armory) House Team Program & for the 10K Hours Improv Program
-- I regularly secure performance opportunities for the teams I coach because your team will learn a lot in front of an audience, and if you’re working hard then you deserve the stage time.
Here are some specifics...
*Improv Teacher at The PIT (NYC), Broadway Classroom (NYC), It's All Fun and Games... (CT), The Bijou Theatre (CT), The Trumbull Continuing Education Program (CT) and previously at Gotham City Improv (NYC)
*House Team Committee/Panel Member (and Coach) for The Tank Armory House Team Program & 10K Hours Improv Program
*I began coaching/teaching short form and long form improv in 2007
I have been studying and performing improv in NYC for over 16 years (beginning in 2001 as a naïve 15 year old). I can currently be seen on The PIT house team "The Department" & in numerous other long form and short form shows each week throughout the city. Additionally, I regularly produce shows at The PIT and around CT.
MY FOCUS AS A COACH:
A) Your growth. I genuinely care about the people I work with. If I think there is another coach who can better serve you, I'll point you in the direction of some coaches who may be just what you need. Additionally, Not all forms suit everyone. Not all styles are for all people. Let’s find what makes you a strong team. Let’s highlight those strengths and serve your team voice while steadily strengthening the areas that may need more work. Let's work hard but never stop having fun on stage. And when I feel I have nothing more to offer you, I'll encourage you to trade me in for a fresh set of eyes.
B) I'll help you to become better individual improvisers and a stronger, funnier, happier team that builds grounded, ridiculously funny scenes and sets that captivate your audience. You'll walk away being better at...
STRONG CHARACTER CHOICES
EMOTIONS, POV & PLAYING AT THE TOP OF YOUR INTELLIGENCE
HEIGHTENING and "GAME" PLAY
OBJECT WORK & ENVIRONMENT
MAKING BOLD CHOICES
BREAKING THE RULES THE RIGHT WAY, when necessary
SPOT ON EDITS
SAVING SCENES WHEN YOU'RE FEELING LOST
