Kathleen O'Mara

I have been writing and performing sketch comedy for over six years at all three major comedy theaters in NY. I am a contributing writer to satire websites such as McSweeney's and I write web cartoons for Pencilmation.com.

In December of 2018, I directed The Big Holiday Show at The Magnet.

I currently write for veteran Magnet House Sketch team: Milwaukee. I previously wrote and performed on Boogiemanja team, Candy Ass. In fall of 2018, our Spank, Air Duds, ran at UCB Hells Kitchen.

I've written and performed for long running PIT late night/sketch show, This Live Show, was a founding member of long running indie team, 301 Views, and was half of sketch duo, Kathleen and Sarah Show, with Sarah Morgan Ashey.

I have worked in professional theater for over 10 years and have a degree in Acting and Directing. I performed regional theater at Centenary Stage Company in NJ. I now perform characters throughout New York.

In 2016, I directed New York Sketch Festival selection: Kate and Shelley Save America. I have directed plays such as Proof, As You Like, and Match.

I can direct your shows, note your sketches, packets and scripts. I can help you write and perform original characters. I also coach stand-ups on joke writing.

My schedule changes, but is flexible! I'm fun and nice.
